Last May 20th, the Belgo-Chilean Chamber of Commerce has the pleasure to receive in Brussels the economic commercial investments counselor Mrs. Emmanuelle Dienga, as International delegate of Wallonia, Brussels in Chile in order to find out new opportunities in Chile for Belgian companies, in particular to fix up international events to be held in Santiago at the end of 2019 (APEC and COP25 summit).
On Thursday, November 29, the Belgo-Chilean Chamber of Commerce organized a meeting between Chilean mayors and Belgian companies, in order to discuss the opportunities for Smart(er) cities.
The Belgo-Chilean Chamber of Commerce organized its Annual Dinner on Monday, November 26, 2018. His Excellency the Ambassador of Chile to the Belgian Kingdom honoured the present members from his presence. The event was the opportunity to gather and discuss developments of Belgo-Chilean relations in a casual manner.

On Monday November 12, the Belgo-Chilean Chamber of Commerce was present at the Seminar on Organic Trade between Chile and Belgium that ProChile organized. The seminar was the opportunity to introduce the new agreements on organic products the EU and Belgium have signed with Chile. They represent a new opportunity for trade for both regions. The event opened up to a B2B meeting where Chilean productors of organic products, mainly fruit-based, could meet Belgian companies and strengthen their ties.
Emmanuelle Dienga was recenly named as the new Economic and Counselor of Walloon region in Santiago de Chile. The former one, Maria-Liliana Herrera, is soon retiring.
President Piñera was received by King Philippe 1st at Laeken Castle and by Vice Prime Minister Didier Reynders at Egmont Palace, as part of bilateral discussions with Belgium, as well as by European Union institutions as part of the updating process of EU Association Agreement with Chile.
In 2010 Chile created the Platform ” Escenarios Estrategicos 2030″ allowing the various stakeholders related to the energy sector to organize a permanent dialogue about the energetic transition and the future development of the energy sector in Chile. In this framework an important study was released in August 2018, “The future of energy in Chile”. This document sets a basis for building a strategy with a common view on the main trends and needs across the different sectors involved in the energetic transition. It is based upon the “5 D” analysis: decarbonization, decontamination, decentralization, distribution, digitisation.
